Kindergarten Update

Alexandra LOVES Kindergarten but still continues to have a difficult time leaving me in the mornings at drop off. The first few weeks of school it was great! She would walk in the front doors of the school with friends and walk all the way to her classroom without looking back. I was standing outside the school wondering if she made it to class okay. It was an uneasy feeling but I knew she was in the building somewhere. I waited a moment to make sure she didn't come back out the front doors. The beginning of the 4th week of school, it must have hit Alexandra that this was her new normal. As we approached the front doors of the school I could see the anxiety on her face. She squeezes my hand and doesn't want to let go. We have been so blessed with other teachers and the assistant principal taking her hand and walking her to class. The staff has been amazing! Alexandra is now okay with walking with Mrs. McIntire, Mrs. Johnson, or Mr. Stewart down the hallway. Now, the challenge is for her to let them go and walk by herself. I know it will take time so I am just waiting. I was not expecting this at all from Alexandra. She really enjoys her teacher and we just got word that she maybe out on bed rest
until her twins are born which is Dec. 24th. This is another obstacle in her way but hopefully it will only make her stronger! We just take it one day at a time.

Poor A! It will get better, I'm sure. I know it's really hard on her Mommy too!
