Happy Girls

Avery was having a bad day. Her teeth have decided to start pushing through again after taking a week off. Nothing made her happy short of mom holding her. Jennifer sat her down for just a second to do something when Alexandra stepped in. Avery started off sitting up. Alexandra had her laughing so hard Avery fell back. I cought several short clips of the two of them. Enjoy!!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Alexandra is excited about celebrating Jesus's birthday today. She had so much fun making a cake for Jesus. Here are some pictures of her and Avery celebrating His birthday!

Waiting patiently for the cake to cook.

Putting the icing on the cake.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to dear Jesus, happy birthday to you.

Merry Christmas!!!!

We celebrate Christmas Eve at my Mema's with the family. This is a tradition that we have had since I was a little girl. I am very lucky and grateful that the tradition continues with my girls. Santa has come to visit us for the past 3 years at Mema's house. The girls get so excited to see Santa and the special first gift they get for Christmas! Alexandra and Avery loved sitting with Sanat and loved their first gift. Alexandra got a Liana doll and Avery got the DVD Sleeping Beauty. When Alexandra first saw Santa she told him she wanted the Liana doll. Her expressions and excitiment when he gave her the gift was priceless. Avery did an awesome job it being her first time with Santa! After Santa left we ate and opened more gifts.

Next, we go to Nana and Papa's to visit before going home. Here are a few pictures of them having fun at Nana's.

Now off to our house to put out Santa's cookies and eggnog!

Family Portrait

Okay. So maybe I'm getting sentimental. I guess kids have that effect on you. I was up in the playroom with Alexandra. Jennifer and Avery were downstairs. Alexandra was drawing something on her doodle pad. She kept erasing it and telling me I couldn't look yet because it was a surprise. She worked on it for about 10 minutes and had to start over at least a dozen times. When she finished, she showed me her picture of the family. I was absolutely blown away. From left to right you have Alexandra, Jennifer, Me, and Avery.

Early Christmas gift????

When Toby got home from work he found a big present on the floor! He wanted to wait until Christmas to open it but I insisted he open it now. Can you guess what it is?

?????????????

It is Alexandra!!! She got out the wrapping paper before daddy got home and wanted to be wrapped to surprise him. He was so surprised when Alexandra sat up!

Now it was daddy's turn to be wrapped by Alexandra. This game lasted a while.

Alexandra was having so much fun wrapping daddy that it didn't bother her that there was not enough paper to cover him.

Christmas Caroling

Well, the fun was called off. We called the lady we were supposed to visit with and she is going to be unavailable. She has some medical issues that she has to address, but we are going to go visit with her in a week or so. Oh well...maybe next year.

Christmas Caroling

I have not been Christmas caroling since I was in middle school with my church. I remember sitting on hey on a trailer going around town singing. We have the opportunity to go Christmas caroling with my brother's family to a shutin at our church this evening. We will be singing Jingle Bells, Jesus loves me, and We wish you a Merry Christmas. These were the songs the girls already knew so we went with those. We are also taking hot chocolate and cookies while we visit for a bit. I am not taking pictures but wanted to share the exciting news!!

Here are some Christmas pictures of the girls.

Today we took a walk around the block not once but twice. Alexandra took her baby and I took Avery. Alexandra enjoyed picking flowers (weeds) and handing them to her baby.

Parent Peek In at Alexandra's Dance Class

Tonight was Parent Peek In at Alexandra's dance class. The whole family went and Alexandra was so excited her daddy was there. You know the kids in a choir who wave and scream out to their parents? Yes, that is Alexandra!! The entire audience enjoyed her enthusiasum so much. I had a couple of parents come to me and tell me how much they enjoyed her. She had so much fun! It was good to be back in a dance class again to see what Alexandra was learning. She is learning so much beyond dance moves. We got to see how they walk like a lady, have patience, respect each other, and most importantly listen. At the end of the show they presented each dancer with a beautiful ballerina and talked about the dancer. They said the best word that described her was joyful. They said she was so full of energy everytime she walked through the door. They are on break now until the end of the year and then they will put the moves to a dance routine for the recitle in the Spring. Here are a few pictures of what we experienced this evening. WE are so proud of you Alexandra!!!

Just the Three of Us

Alexandra went with Nana and Papa for the night to check out Christmas lights. That left the three of us to enjoy a quiet night. Unfortunately, Avery was running a fever at times as high as 104. As a result, we spent our quiet night trying to keep Avery happy and not crying.

No...Really mom, I feel fine.

Just rub my head right there...

Here mom, he made my head feel better...

Going Fishing

I don't know where Alexandra gets her imagination but she has an awesome one! This is her in her boat fishing in the ocean for a whale. You will see daddy pulling her around the house. The blue string in front of her is her fishing pole. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

2nd Annual Rockwall Christmas Parade

We were very exited to go to the Rockwall Christmas Parade this year. Alexandra was riding on a float with her dance class "Girls of Grace"! We waited in the cold to see Alexandra! When the float finally got to us we could not find her. She was laying down on Heather's lap with the blanket over her. I guess it was a little cold for her liking. Toby ran and chased the float to find her and get a picture. We just knew Alexandra would be standing up singing and waving. You know you are a parent when you wait to see your child in the parade, take a picture, and then immediately leave! Avery was bundled up with me and slept the entire time. She decided to wake up when we were picking Alexndra up.

Rockwall-Heath Playoff Game at Texas Stadium

We were very excited about going to the Rockwall-Heath playoff game! Toby, Papa, and Alexandra went and had a blast! Avery and I stayed home where it was warm. A friend of ours from church is a coach for Rockwall-Heath so Toby, Alexandra, and Papa sat with his family. His daughter Addie goes to school and dance with Alexandra. They really enjoy each others company. Addie's mom is a good friend of mine and we enjoy getting together too! We are proud of the HAWKS!!!! Thanks for the tickets Keri and Natalie!!

Yummy Yummy to my Tummy

Avery turned 6 months at the end of November. She is so excited because now she gets to eat baby food. Here she is eating squash! We tried green peas but she kept her mouth sealed and would not take any after her first bite. I can't blame her they are pretty yucky! Squash however she really enjoyed and could not get enough. Good job Avery!!!!!!!!

The Wootens

Last weekend the Wooten's came over for a visit. We had a great time! Having three kids between us keeps our visits interesting. Alexandra's big thing these days is getting married. Uncle Brett was a great sport and asked Alexandra to marry him! Of course, they had to have their fist dance. She usually marries daddy at least twice a day. She wears a beautiful gown and carries flowers. Boy are we in trouble!!!
