Guess who's two?

....Avery! This year's theme for Avery's birthday party was Abby Caddaby. Avery had a smile on her face the entire time. She had so much fun! We started the party off with a Fairy Dance, Fairy says, and pin the pumpkin on the Abby poster. All the kids enjoyed these games so much. I think the favorite was the Abby Cadabby puzzle. We hid the pieces to the puzzle around the house. The kids had to look for them and then put the puzzle together! Next, was presents and cake. I had a hard time finding an Abby Caddaby cake pan so I decided to make ice cream cup cakes. They were a huge hit! I was proud of myself for actually baking. Happy 2nd Birthday Avery!!!

True Beauty comes from the heart.....

This years theme for Girls of Grace was Proverbs 31. Alexandra's dances taught us gentleness, caring, and gracious. We are so grateful to have found such an amazing dance academy. I always look forward to her recitals because they teach us so much more than dancing! Toby had to work so it was hard for me to take pictures and video. I did not do a good job of either but she did an awesome job as well as all the other girls. This year each girl got a medal that has a heart on it engraved with the words true beauty. After the recital, we were served some delicious cake balls. I can't wait until next year!

Avery at 23 months

Avery is just shy of being 2 years old! She is growing way to fast. Avery is really doing well on potty training! She has a sticker chart and gets chocolate every time she has success on the potty. These are both great incentives and are working well for her. She was interested a few months ago but that came and went and now she is really serious about it. Also, Toby took the rail off of her bed. So now she has a toddler bed. Avery began climbing on the rails and we took that as a sign to take them off. It is like a whole new found freedom for her. She just can't get enough of getting in and out of that bed. She talks constantly just like her big sis! Her favorite things to say are "I do it, don't leave me, and hold me". She is so energetic and keeps all of us on our toes. We can't wait to celebrate her 2nd birthday with Abby Caddaby!!!!

Bluebonnets 2010

Last week Jana and I took the kids for a bluebonnet photo shoot! We were told about a place in or near Farmersville off of 78. We originally were going to go to Plano but thought this was closer so we went for it. There were snippets of bluebonnets on our journey to this place others had experienced. We kept driving and driving and finally found a huge patch along side the road past Farmersville. The kids had a wonderful time running, falling, and playing in the bluebonnets. It was tough to take pictures because it was on a hill on the side of the road. So trying to keep up with two kids, climbing a hill, and taking pictures was a little challenging for me, lol! I got a couple of good pictures of the girls. We finally got the kids attention when we suggested lunch at Chik-fil-A. What a great morning playdate! I LOVE making fun memories with my girls!!

A bird, A bird

Finally, we have birds eating at our birdhouse. The girls are so excited!! Patience has finally paid off! One day the girls were sitting at the table and I was getting things ready for dinner. All of the sudden, Avery yells out "a bird, a bird". I ran over there and sure enough there was a bird on our birdhouse eating! The girls squealed and off the bird flew. I hope the bird got full before he was scared off by my girls screams. It is so fun to have outside visitors at our house for breakfast! We enjoy watching the birds throughout the day enjoy our birdhouse.

Kindergarten Round-Up

Last Tuesday Alexandra and I went to Kindergarten round up! I still am not believing that she is starting K in August. When we first arrived Alexandra went to the library and played with her future friends in K. She knew quiet a few kids from Weekday School. The parents then went to the cafateria for the presentation part of the evening. There I got to meet all the K teachers. They gave us a run down of their day. I am very excited about the activities Alexandra will be experiencing throughout the day! It is a lot like how I taught. I know she will LOVE it!! After the presentation, it was time for Alexandra to go meet the K teachers and look at the classrooms. They were all so fun and child centered!

I remember seeing the moms at the Boo Hoo party once they dropped their child off at school for the first time. I thought what in the world, these moms are crazy??!! I didn't understand what was going through their minds but now I totally get it. Being a teacher, has made this process very comfortable for me because I have been there and know what to expect. My baby girl is growing way to fast! I will definitely be at the Boo Hoo party after I drop her off the first day of school. Who would of thought?????
