Alexandra's Field Day at School

Last Thursday was Field Day at Alexandra's school. There were several events. Alexandra had a wonderful time especially since she got to play outside for most of the day. Avery was clapping for her big sister, Go Red Team. All the kids got a ribbon after each race. Alexandra's favorite color ribbon was orange! Her teacher said the kids ate and napped well that day. I am sure they did because as much as they ran I was worn out watching them. I think Alexandra is going to be a great athlete.

Avery at 11 months

I am a little late on the post but I wanted to share some pictures of Avery at 11 months. I can't believe she will soon be one year old. Avery is always into something. Curious is her middle name these days. We are having to really child proof the house. She definitely keeps me on my toes. Enjoy!

Alexandra's First Dance Recital

Saturday was Alexandra's first dance recital! We were blessed to have family and friends share that special moment with us. The recital was so amazing! Alexandra is such a beautiful dancer! She was so graceful in her ballet routine. The smiles and expressions on her face melted my heart. I think the priceless moment was in her tap routine. She was tapping away doing some shuffles and her tap shoe flew off her foot. The amazing thing was she did not get upset or run after her shoe. She kept on dancing as if it was still on her foot. Once the routine ended she wasted no time recovering her tap shoe. Her drill routine was excellent too. It was amazing how good all the girls danced. Since I was holding Avery during the show and Toby was recording the show we don't have any pictures of Alexandra during the show. However, next time you come over I would love to share the video with you. Thanks to all of you who were able to make it to Alexandra's first dance recital. She was so surprised to see everyone and excited you all could make it!

Daddy gave Alexandra some purple tulips. She was so excited and proud!! Avery watched the entire show and crashed when it was over.

DD's Boat

Yesterday the family decided to go out on DD and Yaya's boat. Toby thought he would get some quiet time out there on the lake (I don't know what he was thinking with three girls going with him?)! We decided to have a picnic on the boat as well. So we stopped at Subway and got a sandwich and a drink. After driving around, we found a spot to throw the anchor and fish. Alexandra and Toby got to fish a little. Alexandra thought the fish was going to jump on the reel when she threw it in the lake. She does not understand that it takes a lot of patience and time. About an hour later we decided to head back to the dock. We fished on there for a while and Toby caught a little fish. Alexandra was so excited she almost fell in the water. I think the fish scared her at first but with lots of coxing she finally touched it! I am not sure when daddy will ask us back on the boat (if ever) but we had a great time!

Happy Easter

We met our neighbors at The Dallas Arboretum Saturday. We even brought food for a picnic. When we arrived at The Arboretum we found out there was no parking on the grounds. We had to park and ride a bus to The Arboretum. When our friends arrived we decided we would have a car picnic. The weather was chilly at first but then it warmed up and was so beautiful! There was even an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. They had so much fun hunting for the eggs! It was a great day to spend outside. Alexandra and Tucker were excited to observe a garden snake for a bit. The ride home so very quiet both girls were fast asleep!

Sweet sisters!

Should I touch this?

Avery's First Steps

I like to walk with something in my hand.

Walking under a picnic table.

This is so fun!

We can't believe Avery is already taking her first steps! It started 2 weeks ago when we were in the playroom and she stood up and took one step after another. She didn't think anything of it. Two days later we were in her bedroom reading and she took the book from me. She stood up and took about 6 steps. She got sooo excited!! I called the family up to watch her and she put on a show. Of course, I wasn't expecting this so I didn't have a camera with me. Every since she has figured out she can get around other than crawling she has really improved on her walking skill. If she gets to excited when she walks she just sits down and crawls. We are so proud of you Avery!!

Coppell Motorcycle Competition

Yesterday Coppell hosted a Motorcycle Competition benefiting a Memorial for the fallen officers of Coppell. Toby decided to ride in this one. It all went so well that they plan on making this a yearly event. Unfortunely, I don't have any pictures I forgot the camera. I was lucky to get myself and the girls ready and out of the door by 7:30. Papa decided to join us and we are glad he did (thanks papa)! The morning started off misty, windy, and cool. So when we got there we hung out in the fire station where the cop food was (donuts and coffee). As the day passed the sun came out and it became warmer. Toby has not been on a motorcycle in a year and still managed to pull 1st place in his division. Go Toby!! He and a fellow officer placed third in the partner ride. We look forward to going next year!! Congratulations Toby, WE are very proud of you!!!
